1 1/2 lbs small red potatoes, scrubbed and halved
6 medium carrots, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch diagonal slices
1/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
3/4 lb. smoked pork chops
3/4 lb. regular pork chops
1 cup white wine
l lb. smoked sausage, such as knockwurst or kielbasa, sliced
Description Mix sauerkraut with carrots and pepper; set aside.

Arrange potatoes in bottom of slow cooker and top with pork chops and then sauerkraut mixture; add wine. Cover tightly and cook on high until potatoes and chops are cooked through, about 4 hours.

Add sausage and cook an additional 40 to 50 minutes or until sausage is heated through.

I used a piece of ham instead of smoked pork chops.

Could also layer in a roasting pan and cook tightly covered in the oven for several hours (like stuffed cabbage).
