Name Toasted Sesame Balsamic Asparagus

1 lb. fresh asparagus

2 tsp. sesame seeds, toasted

2 tsp. balsamic vinegar

2 tsp. sugar

2 tsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce

1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
Description Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.  Spread sesame oil in foil-lined baking pan.  Wash asparagus and break off stalks as far down as they snap easily, 1 to 2 inches from ends.  Roll asparagus in sesame oil.  Sprinkle with sesame seed.  Arrange asparagus in single layer.



Roast in oven for 10 minutes or until tender-crisp.



Mix vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and red pepper in small bowl.  Remove asparagus from oven; place on serving platter.  Drizzle with soy sauce mixture.

Notes To toast sesame seeds: Put in small skillet on medium heat for 2 minutes or until fragrant and golden brown.  Immediately pour out of pan to avoid over-toasting.
