Name Easiest Meatballs Ever on Italian Hoagie Rolls

List of Ingredients For Meatballs:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. bulk sweet Italian sausage,preferably w/fennel (if not, add 1 tsp. fennel seeds to mixture
1 cup grated Parmesan
1 cup grated Romano
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 large egg, beaten
salt and pepper
olive oil for drizzling

For Sauce:
2 T. olive oil
4 cloves garlic, chopped
28 oz. can crushed Italian tomatoes
1 tsp. fennel seed
1 tsp. dried basil
sea salt
fresh basil for garnishing
6 Italian hoagie rolls, split
deli-sliced provolone or additional Parmesan, optional
Description Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 475 degrees.

Mix all the meatball ingredients except the oil; roll into 12 large balls. Transfer the meatballs to a rimmed baking sheet, drizzle with the oil and roast, turning once,until browned and just cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes.

For the sauce, heat the oil, two turns of the pan, over medium. Add the garlic and swirl the pan until the garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, basil, fennel seed and season with sea salt. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 15 to 20 minutes.

Toss the meatballs in the sauce and serve on hoagie rolls, Top with fresh basil, provolone or Parmesan, if using, and bake or microwave to melt additional cheese.
