1 cup brandy

1/2 cup orange liqueur

1/4 cup sugar, super fine (See Notes)

1 orange, thinly sliced

1 pint raspberries

1 lime, thinly sliced

1 lemon, thinly sliced

2 bottles sparkling wine or Cava

Description In large pitcher, combine brandy and orange liqueur. Pour in sugar and stir or shake thoroughly to mix until sugar dissolves. Add all fruit at once. Add wine and serve as is or on ice.

This is a foodnetwork.com recipe from Michael Chiarello. He claims that it is worth the extra money to buy heirloom varieties of the fruits, although you can use any citrus you have on hand.



This was served at Claire's second birthday party and was a HUGE hit. I had to make it 3-4 times throughout the party (Even sent Elliot to the store to buy more wine).



You can just use regular sugar and send it through the food processor to "super-fine" it up. Just want it small so it dissolves in the brandy!
