1 cup sugar
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup light butter or margarine, melted
1 T. white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup cold water
Description Heat oven to 325 degrees. Combine flour, sugar, chocolate chips or chunks, cocoa, baking soda and salt in ungreased 8 or 9-inch square baking dish. Make three depressions in flour mixture. Pour light butter or margarine into one, vinegar into the second and vanilla into the third. Pour water over all ingredients; stir until well mixed.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
