3 lbs. round steak, cut in strips (may use venison)
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. butter
8 oz. can mushrooms
2 c. onions, thinly sliced
1 tsp. garlic concentrate
1 1/2 T. worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. catsup
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Description
Combine flour, salt and pepper. Place in paper bag and shake. Add meat strips a few at a time and shake to coat thoroughly. Brown meat in butter. When finished browning add onion, garlic, worcestershire and catsup.
Drain mushroom liquid into measuring cup and add water to make 1 cup. Add to meat mixture, cover and simmer for 2 hours or til meat is tender. Add more water if necessary. Mixture should be fairly thick when done. Add mushrooms and buttermilk. Cook over low heat til heated through (do not boil).
Serve over rice or noodles.
