Name Bratwurst Stew

List of Ingredients

8 cups coarsely chopped green cabbage (1 medium head)

1 lb. bratwurst, cut into bite-size pieces

3 cups coarsely chopped red potatoes

1 1/2 cups red sweet pepper, chopped

2 medium onions, chopped

56 oz. chicken broth

2 T spicy brown mustard

2 T cider vinegar

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper

1/4 tsp. celery seed

Shredded swiss cheese (optional)

Description In skillet, brown bratwurst to remove fat.  Drain and put into slow cooker.  Add cabbage, potatoes, pepper, and onion; stir.  In bowl, whisk together broth, mustard, vinegar, salt, pepper and celery seed.  Add to slow cooker.



Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.  If desired, top with cheese when serving.
