Name Ham and Asparagus Pasta
Number of People 4
List of Ingredients 6 to 7 oz. whole wheat rotini

1 T. margarine

1 clove, minced garlic

12 oz. fresh or frozen asparagus, cooked

8 oz. cooked ham, cut in thin strips

3 oz. low fat cream cheese

1 cup milk

1/2 tsp basil, dried

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

3 green onions, thinly sliced
Description Cook pasta according to package directions.  In the meantime, cook asparagus.  



Melt margarine and saute garlic and ham until heated through and fragrant.  Add milk and heat just to boiling; stir in cream cheese and basil.  Reduce heat; stirring constantly til cream cheese is just melted.  Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan, ham, pasta and asparagus.



Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
